With 15 years of experience as Community and Urban Horticulturist at Oregon State University and 10 years as an ecological landscaper, I have a depth of experience providing solutions for garden and landscape challenges.

McMenamins, Garden Manager (2024-Present)
I currently serve as Garden Manager for McMenamins Grand Lodge in Forest Grove Oregon and Hotel Oregon in McMinnville. My team and I manage a 12-acre estate garden with 100s of trees and shrubs, dozens of landscaping beds, vegetable/herb/edible flower production gardens, and orchard areas. I also maintain the rooftop and courtyard gardens at Hotel Oregon.
Both locations are worth checking out in terms of plants and for McMenamins hospitality.

Horticulture Consulting
With 15+ years of experience as Community and Urban Horticulturist at OSU Extension Service, I have provided garden, landscape, farming, and property consulting services for 1000s of individuals and 100s of organizations and businesses.
I connected with clients through online, phone, and in-person methods. to provide practical, science-based solutions to help people make informed site management decisions.

Landscaping & Property Management
While at OSU, I designed and installed landscapes at OSU facilities including the Food Innovation Center in NW Portland and the Clackamas Extension Service office in Oregon City. Additionally, I managed a 4-acre farm/garden at the Learning Gardens Laboratory in SE Portland and a 1-acre block of specialty crop fruits at OSU's North Willamette Research and Extension Center.
Solve Pest Problems
I also was the founder and manager for OSUs Solve Pest Problems website development team. I am primary author and publisher for 80+ pages of practical pest management and pesticide safety information. The OSU IPM Center manages the website and continues to publish new content based on the format and platform that I developed.

Master Gardener Program
I served as manager for OSUs Master Gardener program for Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington Counties including instruction and volunteer management. I organized trainings for 150+ people each year. I instructed 300+ presentations on many gardening, landscaping, and small-scale farming topics. My team coordinated 500+ volunteers in dozens of educational and gardening activities helping to make a difference through garden-focused volunteerism.

Beginning Urban Farmer Apprenticeship
Organized, facilitated, and co-instructed a 500-hour, hands-on urban farming apprenticeship for 125 participants through 7 runs of the program. I coached many participants on farm business plans and property searches.
